Self Reliant Diver / Independent Diver - specialty course

Make Your diving skills more independent

Makes You a safer diver as You learn how to prevent and solve problems by Yourself . Although diving in the first place is always a buddy diving, you may encounter situations where you find yourself alone below the surface. The course prepares you to act independently and gives a whole new perspective on diving.

During this course You will learn: 

  • Performing an air consumption rate swim to gather information for later calculation.
  • Switching to a redundant air supply system during simulated emergency situations.
  • Swimming without a mask.
  • Navigating to various points, including your exit.
  • To use a DSMB.
  • Identify potential problem situations in advance and avoid them.


Above all as a result of the course, you will become a better diving pair when you start to take better care of safety of diving in advance.

2 days 

  • Theory learning; review questions from learning material 
  • Open water dives; total 3 course dives.

Day 1

  • The first day is spent by the pool getting familiar with the equipment and learning new skills.
  • If You make course with Your own equipments that You are familiar with, we will stay at the classroom and go thru theory parts.
  • Duration of the day about 9-15

Day 2

  • On the second and third day we will join the day trip and use learned skills in a real diving environment while diving.
  • Duration of the days about 7:30-18

PADI

  • Minimum 18 year old
  • Minimum 100 logged dives
  • Open Water Diver course (completed with any organization)
  • Good health (No-answers at medical questionnaire or doctor's certificate that You are fit to dive)
  • To participate in the course, you must have diving insurance. You can also buy insurance through us.

SSI

  • Minimum 18 year old
  • Minimum 75 logged dives including minimum 50 dive hours
  • Either specialty course done, or prove of at least 5 dives, from following: deep, navigation and night & limited visibility
  • Stress & Rescue certification (or similar from another organisation)
  • Good health (No-answers at medical questionnaire or doctor's certificate that You are fit to dive)
  • To participate in the course, you must have diving insurance. You can also buy insurance through us.

SM equipments from INTO Dive:
SSI 12 000 THB
PADI 13 000 THB

Own SM equipments:
SSI 11 000 THB
PADI 12 000 THB

Price includes:

  • Transport from and to Your hotel (Kata, Karon, Rawai, Patong)
  • Lunch and drinks during pool day

For the course you need the following equipment in addition to the basic equipment: (possibility to rent them from us)

  • Sidemount bcd and regulators OR bcd where You can clip ponybottle.
  • Divecomputer and spare depth gauge and timer OR spare divecomputer.
  • Dsmb and reel with a minimum 30 m line. (spare dsmb You can use from us during the course)
  • Redundant surface signaling devices. (one visible and one audible)
  • Knife or line cutter.
  • Wetnotes or clipboard and pen.
  • Spare mask.
  • Depending on your diving equipment, you may also need a pocket wetsuit or an extra pocket for the spare equipment.
