East side of island

This dive site is usually dived as a drift dive starting at Bay 1. The reef running along the edge of the island offers a lot to see. There are big schools of fish and a wide amount of small macro life. At its best, diving here is an effortless glide with the current and enjoying the views.

Bay 1 / Ao La

East side of island

This bay is the most popular site in the Phuket area for divers and snorkelers. The shallow reef offers lots to see for everyone, despite the experience. The sandy bottom provides a perfect area to practise skills during courses. You can practice buoyancy control with concrete cubes on an artificial reef, as long as you watch carefully that there is no coral growing or other marine life that You can disturb in the cube.

Ha Ruby wreck

East side, front of bay 1

This former liveaboard vessel has been intentionally sunken as a dive site. The wreck works perfectly for educational use and wreck speciality courses are conducted here often. The wreck has gathered life around it from barracudas to bat fish. While visiting the wreck, you can go to see if “The Old Lady” - a huge-sized moray eel - is at home next to the propellers.

Marla's Mystery wreck

East side, front of bay 1

The 34-meter vessel has been sunk by a dive center owner to the delight of divers. It's located south of Bay 1. The wreck was planned to be shallower, but upon sinking it slide deeper and remained lying at the bottom to a depth of about 36 meters. The wreck is therefore not suitable for beginner divers.

Bay 3 / Lucys Reef

East side of island

This dive site is popular during the summer when the waves are too high on the west side of the island. Here You can find more familiar barracudas and sting rays as well as rarer stonefish and frogfish. There is also a fast sailfish seen here swimming in one glance past.

Bay 4 / Waterfall Wall

East side of island

A very similar type of dive site to Bay 3. The biggest difference is that the dive site continues south as a rocky sloping reef that can be dived as a drift dive during high tide. The site can also be seen by Thai marine department coral planting areas, as in this site they are trying to revive and plant new coral as a reef.

Bungalow Bay, South

West side of island

Also known as Ao Patok. An undervalued dive site that is perfect for Discover Scuba Diving-program, but also offers interesting things to see for more experienced divers. In particular, the macro life of the dive site surprises with its abundance. If you are not interested in small animals then you can admire larger schools of barracudas and other reef fish. The entire southern edge of the bay is full of coral.

Bungalow Bay, North

West side of island

North-side edge of the bay is also a great reef. There you can dive with a large school of fusiliers and look for Scorpionfish and small sea snails a.k.a. nudibranchs among the corals. Guitar shark and manta ray have been seen on this dive site too. Although it seems like Manta had a compass totally messed up in that time…

Siam Bay

West side of island

Two huge elephant statues are sunk on the site, which are also protected by two Thai warriors in the form of a statue. The statues are actually sunk as a tsunami memorial. As a funny detail on the head of another warrior, an anemone has found its way and it sways in the currents like hair. The site also has coral formations that are home to many sea animals.

Siam Bay north

On the northern edge of Siam Bay is a smaller bay where a lot of coral grows. It is a popular destination for both snorkelers and divers. The lively reef serves as a home for many species, so there is plenty to see here.
