Before liveaboard
Diving safaris head further from the coast, where water is crystal clear and the marine life is diverse. The number of species is the same as in nearby Phuket, but the nutrient-rich waters ensure that the species grow larger and the schools of fish are huge.
On a safari, the schedule is relaxed and even as the dives are done four a day it doesn't seem too much. After every dive is served something to eat and You can take a nap whenever You feel so. The relaxed dive life charms you easily, and it’s not uncommon for you to want to come on liveaboard again.
In the name of INTO Liveaboard, we publish all our liveaboards for which INTO divers are joining, so you know for sure when you will get great dives and surface time with like-minded divers. On INTO Liveaboards you always dive with an experienced guide and our own INTO divegroup.
The price of a liveaboard may seem pricey at first, but when you think about what the price includes, the daily price is very reasonable.
The average price of a liveaboard day is about 200 euros, which includes everything from equipment rental to meals and accommodation.
You can go to liveaboard even straight after completing the Open Water Diver course. Some destinations may be more challenging, but there is always a liveaboard that is also suitable for divers at the beginning of their diving hobby. In a liveaboard, you also gain more diving experience, so You are welcome to join us.
First you send us a message and we will start looking for a safari that suits you.
Once the best days and price have been found, we need the following information from you (and your possible liveaboard partners):
- Copy of passport (good quality because it will be sent to officials beforehand)
- Information from Your certification, copy from cards
- Information from Your diving insurance
- Date of last dive and about amount of dives You have under the belt
- Information about food-allergies or any other relevant allergies
- Length, weight and shoe size, if You are renting diving equipment from us
- Flight and accommodation information before and after the liveaboard
Only Myanmar liveaboards:

During liveaboard
It is not advisable to pack the whole two-week holiday equipment and suitcases for the safari, but large suitcases can be left in the liveaboard company's or Into Dive's office for storage.
For liveaboard, you should bring:
- Passport
- Dive certification cards
- Diving- and travel insurance card or certification
- Medicines if You need something specific. (like Epipen, allergymedicines etc.)
- Toiletries
- Sunscreen (we hope you will choose sunscreen that won't harm marine life)
- Towel (technical sports towels are best because they dry quickly)
- Hoodie or jacket, the evening may get cool even when you are in the tropics
- Books or games (there is time on board to finally finish Your favorite book or even play cards between dives)
- Hat or beanie, to protect your head from the sun and your ears from the wind
- 2-3 t-shirts and short pants
- Camera (don’t forget the charger and memory card big enough)
- Swimming suit
- Thai Bahts for drinks and tips
- Your diving equipment if you do not rent them from us. (Remember that in Thailand, tanks are usually equipped with a Yoke connector.)
Usually there are following basic things in every liveaboard. And more expensive ones have a lot of extras:
- Towel (it is also recommended to bring your own microfiber towel, boat towels dry really slowly in tropics and the towel is used constantly)
- Sheets, duvet, pillow
- Snacks are available at all times (eg fruit, bread, spreads, biscuits, coffee, tea)
- Drinking water (often also electrolyte drink)
- Breakfast, lunch, fruits, dinner (food is available after each dive)
- Basic medical needs such as motion sickness pills, headache medication and antihistamines
- Diving tank
- Diving weights and weight belt
Liveaboard boats are used to the different wishes and requests of customers. It’s also not uncommon for something to be forgotten at home, so often boats also sell a variety of products you might need.
Every liveaboard has a different kind of schedule. We will provide a precise schedule for customers before liveaboard starts. Please note that dive sites and schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions or other important reasons.
Every liveaboard have their own schedule, but “normal” dive day usually goes like this:
06.30 Wake up and light breakfast
07.00 Dive 1
08.00 Breakfast
10.30 Dive 2
11.30 Lunch
14.30 Dive 3
15.30 Snacks
18.30 Sunset / Night Dive
20.00 Dinner
Safety has been well taken into account on all the liveaboard boats we use. That’s important, because liveaboards are often many hours away from hospitalization. Here are the things listed that increase security and resources to respond to emergencies:
- The staff is first aid trained
- The boat has a first aid kit and first aid oxygen
- A satellite telephone can be used for emergency communication
- The captain is ready to order a speedboat transport for quick evacuations, for example for medical pressure chamber treatment
- The nearest medical pressure chamber is located in Phuket
After the liveaboard
- Back at the departure pier we are usually around 14-15.00
- INTO Dive takes care of the transports from the liveaboard boat to the customer's accommodation as agreed
According to the general guidelines, it is a good idea not to fly 24 hours after the last dive if you have done repeat dives.
Safaris are dived for several days in a row, each with 2-4 dives. So you should make sure that you do not violate the no-fly recommendation, but wait at least 24 hours before flying after the safari.
